The Belfast Academy of Marketing Team
Frank is a marketing and management educator with over 30 years experience as a practitioner, consultant, lecturer and tutor. He has written, delivered and assessed courses, seminars and workshops for institutions such as CIM, Queen’s University Belfast, Belfast Metropolitan College and the Open University, as well as many other respected public and private sector organisations and brands.
Frank is also a visiting tutor at Henley Management College on the International Executive MBA programme, a Fellow of CIM, Chartered Marketer, member of The Professional Institute of Educational Assessors, published author and Subject Examiner for a number of professional and academic awarding bodies. Frank’s second book on project management in marketing was published by BPP Learning Media in September 2014.

Head of Operations
Danielle has over 15 years experience working in Administration and Operations. She has worked with various high profile organisations within Ireland and joined Belfast Academy of Marketing in September 2014 in a consultancy role.
Danielle is responsible for the organisations’ customer service and implementing a strategy that works to complement the needs of our students and customers whilst achieving the goals for the business.

Dolores has brought to BAM a wealth of experience in education and particularly CIM. Dolores has taught in Belfast Met, SERC (both at Downpatrick and Lisburn) and Oxford College of Marketing.During this time Dolores was awarded CIM lecturer of the year.
In addition, Dolores is currently an examiner with the CIM and has over 30 years of a relationship with them.
Dolores has considerable experience with the Scottish Education Authority and is the author of a Comtemporary Marketing module at level 5.
Dolores also brings industry experience with her, both local and international, working mainly in the food industry.
She loves to cook and travel.
Kate has more than 20 years’ experience in marketing communications and business development, with a proven track record in the design and delivery of marketing campaigns. She has delivered successful marketing plans on a local, national and international basis to meet business objectives and maximise opportunities for organisations in both the public and private sector.
Kate has extensive experience of managing a training business including the development of policies and procedures for quality management, event management and administration. She is also a CIPD qualified trainer and has practical experience of training design and delivery for a large number of public sector organisations.
Kate has been a CIM Tutor for Belfast Academy of Marketing since the doors opened and has support hundreds of students on all levels of qualifications.
Senior Associate & Digital Lead
Ed Canning is Strategy Director and Digital Lead at the full-service marketing communications agency Navigator Blue.
He is a CIM Tutor on all the Level 4 & 6 Digital Marketing modules at Belfast Academy of Marketing and has previously been a Lecturer and course Co-Ordinator in Digital Marketing Strategy at the Ulster University Business School.
He has recently joined the council of PANI (Publicity Association of Northern Ireland) …….. and he likes dogs.
Lydia McClelland is a Chartered Marketer and a qualified Executive Coach. Lydia has held senior marketing, business development, and general management roles in the economic development, Arts, Higher Education and the Visitor Attraction/Science Centre sectors for over 18 years. She is passionate about supporting business growth through a strategic approach to marketing and now works with a range of private and public sector clients on business and marketing consultancy projects.
Lydia has tutored on CIM Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma level courses since 2003 with Castlereagh College (now Belfast Met) and Belfast Academy of Marketing.
Lydia is our tutor on the Level 6 modules Resource Management and Innovation in Marketing.
Tierna Byrne helps small business owners with designing their brand, refining their marketing strategy and using creative online content as a way of standing out in a crowded market. She founded her marketing, branding & design business in 2019 www.tiernabyrne.co.uk and has a Diploma in Professional Marketing from the Chartered Institute Of Marketing and a degree in Design For Visual Communication. She is also a previous student of the Belfast Academy Of Marketing.
With her unique background in design & marketing she specialises in using creative content in small business marketing strategies and also mentors small business owners in marketing and branding. She previously led the marketing team for Catalyst (formerly NI Science Park) and prior to that worked as an in-house designer for several years where she managed the design for global and local brands.
Tony is CEO of Silverwood Smart Marketing, which was established in 2020. He is a marketing professional with over 20 year’s experience. After graduating in 1999 with a CAM degree from the University of Ulster, Jordanstown, Tony worked for Cadbury’s based in London. He managed some of their major UK retail accounts before moving into the marketing department.
In 2006, he became Sales & Marketing Director of CRASH Services, which has become NI’s leading accident management company. In addition, he has lead and managed highly successful campaigns for other Group Companies.
Now the owner of a Marketing consultancy and Marketing School based in Newry, Tony will be working collaboratively with Belfast Academy of Marketing to increase the learning options for professionals working or living in the region. Tony specialises in marketing strategy, marketing for charities and event management. He has developed and delivers a series of workshops in these areas.
Joanne has more than 20 years’ experience as a senior marketing professional within the FMCG, Media and Construction sectors.
She has delivered successful marketing campaigns on a local and international basis for brands such as Magners Cider and Linwoods Health Foods; the latter of which saw the launch of over 10 export markets including USA, Spain, Italy, France and Holland. Joanne has extensive experience in building marketing teams and structures that are fit for purpose to deliver on organisational goals and objectives.
She has a MBA from QUB, gained the Diploma in Professional Marketing through the Belfast Academy of Marketing, is a Chartered Marketeer and has also gained a Certificate in Education, which allows her to also lecture part-time for South West College for the Institute of Leadership & Management courses.
Joanne brings with her extensive knowledge on brand marketing plus the role marketing plays in supporting sales strategies for fast-paced businesses who are focused on achieving continuous and improved business performance.
